The Used Moving Box- Savings and SecurityThere’s nothing more heartbreaking than preparing to move into your dream home and only to find out the movers that you hired has broken or damaged one of your prized heirlooms. Although moving can be a very exciting time for people, it can also be very stressful and unpleasant if not prepared, accordingly.
One of the first considerations a person must consider when
preparing to move is the right kind of packaging and supplies him or she may
need to make the move. In most cases, a good used moving box will do the
trick, they’re usually quiet secure and usually more inexpensive than those
that are new.
• Inspect the box for water damage, water can cause cardboard to warp and usually undermines the boxes integrity. • Ask the box company what is the tested weight of the used moving box. Most new boxes have been tested to hold up to 200 pounds, if the used moving box is up to quality standards, it too can hold up to 200 pounds, too. However, your moving company may or may not offer a guarantee on used boxes. • Inspect the used moving box for sturdiness at the seams, especially at the sides where glue is used to hold the box in place.
• Consider the shipper that you will be using when purchasing or renting
used boxes, many will not ship used boxes. In order to save money and time,
correlate your move with the shipper and the box company prior to purchasing
or renting used moving boxes. |
The best way to move is to prepare for it in advance. Ask your realtor for advice on hiring a moving company. Mark each box with the room name so you can put it in the right place when you move in. It makes no sense moving boxes twice.
